Chattanooga Airport To Restart Parking Lot Construction

The short and long term parking lots at the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport will be under construction beginning September 6. This project originally began in February, but after completing Phase 1 - which included widening the exit lanes to provide greater convenience to local passengers - the work was postponed during the busy summer travel season.

TSA Adds Lighters to List of Items Prohibited Beyond Airport Checkpoints

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) today announced that all lighters will be prohibited from sterile areas of airports and onboard aircraft. This action is in response to a provision in the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004, which was signed into law by the President on December 17, 2004, and requires that "butane" lighters be added to TSA's Prohibited Items List.
