What is Title VI?

Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination on the grounds of race, color or national origin under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance. Title 49 of the USC section 47123, “Nondiscrimination,” further prohibits airports who receive airport improvement program funding from engaging in discrimination based on race, creed, color, national origin, or sex in activities carried out with money received under a grant of this subchapter.
